UN Special Envoy calls for New Year’s ceasefire in Myanmar

A Senior U.N. official has called on Myanmar authorities to investigate the reported killing of at least 35 civilians that opposition activists blamed on government soldiers. The ruling military has not commented on the killings in Kayah State over the weekend. We are joined via zoom by Dr. Maung Zarni, a Burmese educator, academic, and human rights activist.
