Myanmar ex-general spreads Fake News about Rohingyas on eve of Security Council visit

"Bengali Muslim Terrorists" can be assumed to be planning further strikes against Myanmar, so claims Suu Kyi ally.

Compare this racist misinformation (Fake News) with the PRI interview given by ex-US Special Force Major David Eubank who actually sat down with ARSA's deputy leader:

On eve of visit by Security Council delegation, ex-General Shwe Mann (to the right of former dictator Than Shwe in the picture), former right hand of the despot General Than Shwe (retired) engages in racist, fear-mongering against Rohingya.

He effectively conned the United States and other western governments as a reformist who - in his then capacity as Speaker of the Parliament in the military-controlled USDP Parliament - would team up with Suu Kyi to undertake genuine reforms.

Shwe Mann posted the following note on his Facebook in the last 24 hrs.

"Be aware. Be vigilant.

South East Asia is faced with the threats from IS (Islamic State).

In N. Rakhine State of Myanmar Bengali, Muslim, terrorist group named ARSA (Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army) had attacked security posts. I assume that they are preparing to further their strikes at other targets/locations (in Myanmar).

We need to stay informed and vigilant and execute necessary actions accordingly, in the face of these dangers and accompanying issues."

Shwe Mann's note forms a part of the pattern of Islamophobic fear-mongering of Rohingyas as proxies for terrorists from the Middle East. He handpicked ex-Major Zaw Htay, former President Thein Sein's spokesperson to be Suu Kyi government spokesperson.

Zaw Htay has been engaged in this kind of misinformation promotion since the two bouts of mass violence in Rakhine in June and October 2012.

A graduate of the Defence Service Academy In-Take-11, Shwe Mann held #3 position as Joints Chief under Than Shwe and has been involved in many bloody crackdowns against dissidents, ethnic resistance, and other uprisings. (Thein Sein was from In-Take-9).

Zaw Htay was a major, and from the In-Take 36.
