OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT by Dr. Maung Zarni

Dr Maung Zarni is a fucking immoral asshole. Make him retire from Burma!

(Thinking about it, bro!)

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

by Maung Zarni

There has recently been an avalanche of accusations, slanders, distortions, facts, non-facts, etc. directed at me on various social media platforms.

They have been triggered by the National Unity Government's second fiasco - the first was the spectacular humiliation re: Rohingya genocide before the US Sub-Committee on Foreign Affairs Hearing on Burma on 4 May (?) -- regarding the 21 May-dated public announcement (see the English versions below) of my appointment as Director of Advisory Cooperation Department.

I was to serve under the leadership of humanitarian HE Dr Sasa.

(Incidentally, the appointment lasted about 1 hr, before the Minister was said to have been bullied into dropping it instantly by the soon-to-be-dissolved NLD leaders, who successfully evaded arrest and are in now in safety).

These accusations came from individuals and collectives, Myanmar and foreigners (White Saviors?).

Some bear the signature of great team efforts and well-edited and grammatically correct.

Some came from people I barely know.

Some I knew relatively well.

Some mere acquaintances.

Some I do NOT know at all.

Therefore, I have decided to compile my own crime-list, or in cases, my alleged behavior is not yet coded as CRIME in in system of law, just immoral flaws.

It will be in the interest of Myanmar public at large. It will also make easy the lives and jobs of future historians who wish to study Great Historical Figures of Myanmar such as my Good Self (Mayo Clinic would say, this sentence is a sign of a person with narcissitic personality disorder).

Having such a publicly open and verified Charge Sheet or Immoral Behavior List, will most certainly help future historians who will study Myanmar's dark history to determine who did what.

The accusations against me include the following:

(1) Islamophobe - a person with a dislike of or prejudice against Islam or Muslims, especially as a political force.

(2) misogyny - "dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women"

(3) sexist - "characterized by or showing prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex"

(4) racist - "prejudiced against or antagonistic towards a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized"

(5) opportunist - "a person who takes advantage of opportunities as and when they arise, regardless of planning or principle"

(6) Narcissistic personality disorder - "a mental condition in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, troubled relationships, and a lack of empathy for others"

(7) Sexual harassment?

(I put the question ? as I am not sure my detractors have overlooked or simply did not include a potentially usable accusation).

There are plenty of women, around the world, young and old, whom I have known or interacted with over the last 32 years since I started doing international Free Burma activism. Surely some of them may be prepared to come forward and say damning stuff about my behavior.

(8) embezzlement?

Bank transactions, financial trails, etc - can be looked into by hiring private investigators. In case you need some pointers, I have held bank accounts in Asia, Europe and N. Americca. ( I have never done bitcoins though. So, don't look there to save your $$ and efforts).

(9) drug abuse?

Maybe my detractors don't know how much I love recreational drugs - dumpster diving is a good method to uncover evidence of such depravity. FYI, I don't do heroin any more after university years in Mandalay which was the hub of heroin trade, and we had some of the world's best quality white powder.

(10) Collaborator with or spy for the Burmese military

You can certainly communicate with Burmese generals, retired and in-service, whom they think I may have collaborated for - what else?! - $$. Or pay someone in the Armed Forces Archives where they will certainly be videotape files of my one-on-one meetings with heads of military intelligence services, and the correspondence and phone records. We did NOT use email as the Burmese generals did not want any NSA intercept or MI6 minotor of their communications.

No, I was not involved in procuring any arms: that was crony U Teza's job. We had the division of labour.

I was only trying to end the Western sanction regimes, which only Daw Aung San Suu Kyi proved capable of doing, and was telling whoever in the West would listen that the generals wanted to be friends with people of the Great Western Civilization.

(11) A Fake PhD

You may contact the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and my graduating year is 1998, or search online archives about my thesis. Incidentally, my last name was NI, and first name, ZAR. The Admin there will be a trail of inquiries about how fake my PhD was. So, the admin there should be able to assist you ably.

(12) Plagiarizer in his PhD thesis

Unfortunately, the late Dr Nyein Chan, an army-bred Burmese PhD physicist who was involved in promoting anti-Rohingya genocide racism, dissected my PhD thesis copy, and decided that my sociology of education thesis was full of plagiarized passages in English and Burmese.

Malaysian Gov deported him back to Myanmar after my accuser made a series of YouTube clips attacking Prophet Mohammad, and he literally drank himself to death. A great loss for Myanmar as he was a physicist educated at UCL in London.

A hard copy of my PhD thesis is held at the British Council library in Yangon, if you are in Yangon and can be bothered to comb through it yourself.

(11 and 12 may be collapsed into one misdeed).

(13) hypocrite - "behaving in a way that suggests one has higher standards or more noble beliefs than is the case"

I am most definitely guilty of this charge.

To my dismay, some of my compatriots - some old friends and comrades - have been under the microscope for their international crimes and criminal responsibility.

In that contection, there is a mountain of human rights reports and archived evidence on their crimes - considered gravest in international law, according to the UN Fact-Finding Mission.

Among my fellow Burmese who are sadly subjects of such documentation are:

(1) Myanmar generals, retired and in service;

(2) Thein Sein regime and its members;

(3) ex-State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi;

(4) the National League for Democracy party Central Executive Committee;

(5) the bicameral houses of the Parliament of the Union of Myanmar;

(6) the current NUG cabinet members such as Dr Win Myat Aye, Lwin Ko Latt, Dr Zaw Wei Soe, and so on;

(7) Rakhine nationalist leaders including but not limited to Dr Aye Maung, historian Dr Aye Chan, etc.;

(8) our country's learned monks of Myanmar Sangha including Ven. Sitagu, Ven. Wirathu and other Ma Ba Than organizational leaders;

(9) viturally ALL Burmese language media outlets and award-winning journalists inside Myanmar, on-line, VOA, BBC, etc.

(except Myanmar Now's U Swe Win, and the Pulitzer winners U Wa Lone and U Kyaw Soe Win who exposed the massacres of Rohingyas); and last but not least,

(10) select cronies and dictator Ne Win's grandson Aye Ne Win.

In light of the fact that my fellow countrymen and women have been subjected to international documentation and scrutiny, it is only fair that I too, submit myself to such public scrutiny for all the accusations flying around.

I am happy to cooperate with any investigation which you may initiate.

I can make myself available on Zoom or Skype or Google Hang-out for interviews, questioning, etc.

Thank you.

Dishonestly and hypocritically yours,

zarni
